Learn and Sing 1 Bollywood Classic Hindi Song per day for 300 days, that is what I did. 300 PLUS songs recorded.
Thanks to COVID to be able to do this from home in Nashville TN.
Born & raised in India, I mostly listened to western rock, blues, punk, reggae & jazz.
I challenged myself to learn & sing old Hindi songs which, as a child, I used to hear at home on classic radio or TV.
Recorded live, one take, no edits, with backing track, or with an acoustic guitar.

What to say about this ghazal. One of the top hits of Jagjit Singh songs.
I am in no way attempting to emote the original. Just doing it how it comes to me when singing in a lower register than preferred.
Here is a rendition of the song, singing solo with an acoustic guitar (posted on Feb 28, 2023):

Lyrics:
saji nahi baarat to kya, aai na milan ki raat to kya
byaah kiya teri yaado se, gathbandhan tere vaado se
bin phere ham tere, bin phere ham tere ho
bin phere ham tere, bin phere ham tere
tune apna maan liya hai, ham the kaha is kaabil
jo ehsan kiya jaan dekar, usko chukana mushkil
deh bani na dulhan to kya, pahne nahi kangan to kya
bin phere ham tere, bin phere ham tere ho
bin phere ham tere, bin phere ham tere
tan ke rishte tut bhi jaaye, tute na man ke bandhan
jisne diya mujhko apnapan, usika hai ye jivan
baandh liya man ka bandhan, jivan hai tujh par arpan
bin phere ham tere, bin phere ham tere ho
bin phere ham tere, bin phere ham tere
aanch na aaye naam pe tere, khaak bhale ye jivan ho
apne jahaan me aag laga de, tera jahaan jo raushan ho
tere liye dil tod le ham, ghar kya jag chhod de ham
bin phere ham tere, bin phere ham tere ho
bin phere ham tere, bin phere ham tere
jiska hame adhikaar nahi tha, uska bhi balidaan diya
bhale bure ko ham kya jaane, jo bhi kiya tere liye kiya

I think this song may not be such a popular or well known song from the retro classic Bollywood Hindi music. I know it from the Hemant Kumar songs cassette tape from my father's music collection.
I have always loved the smoothness of Hemant Kumar's voice, but I am beginning to appreciate more as I am listening to these old songs again. Retro classic!

Raag: not sure, perhaps a blend of couple. comment if you know.

Not a popular songs this, but certainly an underrated song. Even I did not have this song on my list for the 300 Bollywood classics that I decided to learn, sing and post on my YouTube channel Puraane Gaane back in January 2021. But, I was in India for few weeks in January-February this year and one day while I was killing the afternoon time browsing channels since my parents were taking a siesta, I came across this movie, Mahaan with Amitabh Bachchan in triple role. So, just for the heck of it, I started watching it, and there was this song. I remember this song as a boy from my father's music collection. I liked it back then, I like it now too.
Great song! Even though picturized as a romantic song, to me this song is a bhajan, singing to the one and only, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent and omnibenevolent source, undivided and untouched by religion or politics.
Any ever I look, I see your image.

It is day 101, and today's song is Chalte Chalte sung by Kishore Kumar from the 1976 movie Chalte Chalte, directed by Sunder Dar and produced by Bhisham Kohli. Music composed by Bappi Lahiri, and lyrics written by Amit Khanna.
This has to be one of the quintessential Bollywood classics that most everybody into Bollywood music will know, and I am sure there are several remixes and versions of this song on the cyber space. A super hit song. Bappi Lahiri's first big hit song.
I myself, have some memories connected with this song, playing on the radio, and also perhaps from watching the movie as a toddler. The movie itself is an Indian adaptation of the movie Play Misty for Me. Similar story to the later made Hollywood movie Fatal Attraction.

At times it is hard to find good quality backing tracks in the original key. This song happens to be one of those. So, My apologies.

It is day 78 and today's song is Ruk Jana Nahin sung by Kishore Kumar from the 1974 movie Imtihan, directed by Madan Sinha. Music composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and lyrics written by Majrooh Sultanpuri.
Very nice and inspiring song, both my melody and lyrics. Kind of like the eye of the tiger in the movie Rocky. Very inspiring and motivational song. The song urges to never lose and stop but keep going on even if alone. I love this song. One of my favorite songs.
The backing track quality is slightly compromised at places, but that is about the best I could find.
It is day 74 and today's song is Chal Akela Chal Akela sung by Mukesh from the 1969 movie Sambandh, directed by Ajoy Biswas. Music composed by O.P. Nayyar and lyrics written by Pradeep.
I know this song from childhood, but I know not the movie. Reading the story of the movie on imdb does not motivate me to watch the movie. Not a very interesting movie story, but this song is very good and has very profound lyrics.

It is day 4, and today I chose to sing one of my favorite old time song from 1949. When this song was released, it was just two years since India had achieved independence from the rule of the British empire. This song is definitely decades before I or most of you were born. This song used to popularly played on radio when I was a boy, so I do have some memories of this song.
Suhani Raat Dhal Chuki is a hit song from the movie Dulari, directed by A. R. Kardar. Music direction was done by Naushad, lyrics written by Shakeel Badayuni and sung by the golden voice great Mohammed Rafi. So this song had three greats put their talents together. No wonder it is such an evergreen song which sounds as fresh and great as it did back in the day.
Here is a latest rendition of the song, singing solo with an acoustic guitar (recorded on 11/11/2022):
