Thanks to COVID to be able to do this from home in Nashville TN.
Born & raised in India, I mostly listened to western rock, blues, punk, reggae & jazz.
I challenged myself to learn & sing old Hindi songs which, as a child, I used to hear at home on classic radio or TV.
Recorded live, one take, no edits, with backing track, or with an acoustic guitar.

This is a sad song perfectly fits the mood of my day today. I had to drive out into the world last two days, see and meet people. It made me sad to see the state of the world. Along with other difficult situations of my life, I feel this is a perfect song for the day.

So it is day 2 of my Bollywood classics Hindi song, one song per day for the next 300 days. I am going to sing and post 1 song per day for the next 300 days...298 more days to go.
For day 2, I picked a song from 1960, a time before my time, and for many of you too this is possibly before your time. The song is titled Khoya Khoya Chand Khula Aasmaan, from the movie Kala Bazar, directed by Vijay Anand. The music director of this song is my all time Bollywood favorite musician, the legendary Mr. S.D.Burman. He’s the best IMHO. Lyrics written by Shailendra. The original singer of this beautiful song is none other than the legendary singer Mohammed Rafi, the great!
I love this song. This is just my humble attempt singing this song.

I remember watching this movie on T.V. when I was a kid growing up in India. It's a good comedy romance drama movie. This film is the unofficial remake of Come September, which is a 1961 romantic comedy. I don't mind watching the movie again. Definitely a good song to cover singing with an acoustic guitar. Perhaps I will do that someday.
