Lyrics:
o sathi re, tere bina bhi kya jina
tere bina bhi kya jina
o sathi re, tere bina bhi kya jina
tere bina bhi kya jina

phulo me kaliyo me
sapno ki galiyo me
phulo me kaliyo me
sapno ki galiyo me
tere bina kuchh kahi na
tere bina bhi kya jina
o sathi re, tere bina bhi kya jina
tere bina bhi kya jina

har dhadkan me pyas hai teri
saanso me teri khushbu hai
is dharti se us ambar tak
meri nazar me tu hi tu hai
pyar ye tute na
pyar ye tute na, tu mujhse ruthe na
saath ye chhute kabhi na
tere bina bhi kya jina
o sathi re, tere bina bhi kya jina
tere bina bhi kya jina

tujh bin jogan meri rate
tujh bin mere din banjare
mera jivan jalti dhuni
bujhe bujhe mere sapne sare
tere bina meri
tere bina meri, mere bina teri
ye zindagi zindagi na
tere bina bhi kya jina
o sathi re, tere bina bhi kya jina
tere bina bhi kya jina
tere bina bhi kya jina
tere bina bhi kya jina

Day 26: Today's song is Surmayee Ankhiyon Mein by Yesudas - Sadma (1983)

It is day 26, and todays' song is Surmayee Ankhiyon Mein by Yesudas from the 1983 movie Sadma, directed by Balu Mahendra. This is a lullaby song, music of which is composed by the internationally renowned composer Illayaraja. Lyrics written by the great, and my personal favorite, Gulzar. Wah! What a combination of talent, variety and style.

Not an easy song to sing and emote the feel. I think I did an ok job of singing this song, certainly not even close to the original song. Such a good song. I love it.

So here it is, my fair rendition of this lori, lullaby (posted on Feb 22, 2021):

Lyrics:
Surumai ankhiyon mein nanha munna ek sapana de jaa re(2)
nindiya ke udate paakhi re, akhiyon mein aaja saathi re

Raa ree raa rum O raa ree rum (2)

Surumai ankhiyon mein nanha munna ek sapana de jaa re

Sachcha koi sapanaa dejaa
Mujhako koi apana dejaa
Anjaana sa magar kuchh pahachaana sa
Halka phulka shabanami
Resham se bhi... reshami

Surumai akhiyo mein nanha munna aek sapnaa de ja re
Nindiya ke udate paakhi re, ankhiyon mein aaja saathi re

Raa ree raa rum O raa ree rum (2)

Raat ke rath par jaane vaale
Neend ka ras barasaane vaale
Itana kar de ke meri ankhain bhar de
Ankhon mein basata rahe,
Sapana ye hasata rahe

Surumai akhiyo mein nanha munna aek sapnaa de ja re
Nindiya ke udate paakhi re, akhiyon me aaja saathi re

Raa ree raa rum O raa ree rum(4)

Day 200 of 300: Today's song is Jo Raah Chuni Tune by Kishore Kumar - Tapasya (1976)

It is day 200 of 300!
TWO HUNDRED songs so far that I learned, sang, recorded and posted on my YouTube channel.

When I started this back in January 2021, I was not sure how it was going to go.
In the pandemic lockdown, I was watching this movie Julie & Julia, which inspired me to decide to sing and post 300 distinct Bollywood classic songs. Songs that I used to listen to on the radio or TV as a kid. Some songs I knew mostly, many I only knew parts. Most of the songs I never ever sang in my life.

I started by using the Apple iPad headset for singing. You will see that in my older videos. After couple months of doing that, following an advice I was given, I decided to get a microphone and sing through that instead. It then started sounding better, and not to forget, it looks better too.
All songs are recorded in ONE take, and no pitch correction used. One mistake I make during recording be it audio or visual mistake, I have to stop and start all over again.

It is a very emotional moment for me today that I have reached 200 songs. 100 more to go.

Even though I am passionate about playing music and singing, unfortunately, my bad luck perhaps, but music always eluded me from becoming a profession or being successful. I know so many times I have failed wanting to do something with music, from attempting to form bands to attempting to produce good records.

In 2019 and 2020, I wrote, recorded and released 11 English songs. They are available ton youTube, Spotify etc.

Today's song, the 200th song is Jo Raah Chuni Tune sung by Kishore Kumar from the 1976 movie Tapasya directed by Anil Ganguly and produced by Tarachand Barjatya. Music composed by Ravindra Jain, and lyrics written by M.G. Hashmat.

The movie is one of the best in the industry, and Rakhee won the best actress Filmfare award that year.

I must watch the movie again, it has been forever.

Anyways, here it is, my rendition of the song (posted on Oct 27, 2021):

Lyrics:
jo raah chuni tune
jo raah chuni tune, usi raah pe raahi chalate jana re
ho kitani bhi lambi raat
ho kitani bhi lambi raat, diya ban jalate jana re
usi raah pe rahi chalate jana re
jo raah chuni tune, usi raah pe raahi chalate jana re

kabhi ped ka saaya, ped ke kam na aaya
kabhi ped ka saaya, ped ke kam na aaya
seva me sabhi ki usane janam bitaaya
koyi kitne bhi phal tode
are koyi kitne bhi phal tode, use to hai phalte jana re
usi raah pe rahi chalte jana re

teri apani kahani yeh darpan bol raha hai
teri apani kahani yeh darpan bol raha hai
bhigi aankh ka paani, hakikat khol raha hai
jis rang me dhale
jis rang me dhale, wakt musaafir dhalate jana re
usi raah pe rahi chalte jana re

jivan ke safar me aise bhi mod hain aate
jivan ke safar me aise bhi mod hain aate
jaha chal dete hain apane bhi tod ke nate
kahi dhiraj chhut na jaye
kahi dhiraj chhut na jaye, tu dekh sambhalate jana re
usi raah pe rahi chalte jana re

tere pyaar ki mala kahi jo tut bhi jaye
tere pyaar ki mala kahi jo tut bhi jaye
janmo ka saathi kabhi jo chhut bhi jaye
de dekar jhuthi aas
de dekar jhuthi aas, tu khud ko chhalate jana re
usi raah pe rahi chalte jana re
ho kitani bhi lambi raat
ho kitani bhi lambi raat, diya ban jalate jana re
usi raah pe raahi chalate jana re
usi raah pe raahi chalate jana re
usi raah pe raahi chalate jana re
