The movie and it's songs had impact on the local cultures for at least 6 years straight after it's release. It is said the movie was 4 years old and was still playing one show in one movie theatre in few cities. I think that is quite a feat, to have the movie run for 4 years straight. For the first couple years, I am sure the movie ran in multiple theaters in many cities.
This movie also opened avenues for Bappi Da to explore and adapt western pop, disco and rock music.
I remember belting out this song as a kid, In fact we had a tape of all the songs from this movie and I knew all of them by heart. In my 4th grade school, I remember singing on stage in a school event, a not so well know song from this movie, Krishna Dharti Pe Aaja. I still love that song.
