Day 54: Today's song is Zindagi Zindagi Mere Ghar Aana by Bhupinder Singh - Dooriyan (1976)

It is day 54, and today's song is not a very popularly known song from the 1976 movie Dooriyan, directed by Bhim Sain. 

I don't think the movie was popular. I don't remember the movie, but I remember it played on TV one time, when we were kids, and of course, us children were very quickly bored and left to play outside or something. The movie is a adult theme movie showing the drama of a married couple's struggles to balance their personal and professional life which causes them to separate and affects their child. I think I will watch this movie tonight.

Day 54 of 300, it is coming time to take a couple few days break. Singing and recording everyday could be a burnout. But if I give up it is going to be bad for my Self self. So I feel it would be a good idea to take small regular breaks after every milestone. Currently the first first time of 50 songs out of 300 is reached. Also, I am traveling to Southern California for a week the day after tomorrow. So that will be a good break to recharge. I am thinking I should start doing live streaming too, acoustic set. We shall see how things comes along in time.

Day 50 of 300: Today's song is Dil Ka Bhawar Kare Pukar by Mohammed Rafi - Tere Ghar Ke Samne (1963)

It is day 50 of 300, a sixth of the way, and a long way to go.

50 songs in 50 days straight is a good achievement and milestone I think. This is my first time doing something like this. I remember 51 days ago watching the movie Julie and Julia, inspired by which, I started this thing: one Bollywood song a day for 300 days. 

50 days is a good milestone to take a short couple days break and then come back for the next 50 songs after the short break. I am also thinking I do not want to burn myself out from singing one bollywood classic song a day, every day. Perhaps, taking a short break is good for the soul. Like I say, we shall see.

It was time I was exploring rock n roll.

I will say I have done a fair job of singing this song. Could be better, but I am posting a song a day and somedays they come out good, and other days they don't. It is one such day today.

It is day 35 of 300, and today's song is not a very popularly known song. The song is titled Bole Re Papihara. Sung by Vani Jairam, the song is from the 1971 movie Guddi, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee (I think I have watched just about all of his movies). Music directed by Vasant Desai, and lyrics written by my all time favorite, Gulzar, the great!

This song has a very Carnatic music flair to it. I do not know what raga this song is based on, but I also do not know if it is Vani Jairam's awesome Carnatic style singing that gives me a feel of that in this song.

It is day 34. Today turned out to be a busy day, but in good ways. The gear for the new studio setup is beginning to come in and I have started putting them together as they come. Day 20 of 300: Today's song is Tere Mere Sapne by Mohammed Rafi - Guide (1965)

It is day 20 of 300, and today's song is Tere Mere Sapne Ab Ek Rang Hai by Mohammed Rafi from the 1965 hit movie Guide, directed by Vijay Anand, and based on R. K. Narayan's 1958 novel The Guide. I saw this movie a few times in the last couple years, including the English version, which of course has no songs, but extremely very well made. 

The Song Tere Mere Sapne Ab Ek Rang Hai was picturized with Dev Anand as the protagonist. Music direction is by my all time Bollywood favorite, S.D. Burman. Yes, he was before my time growing up in India, but I must say his music has been my favorite of all Bollywood music composers. The lyrics of this song was written by the great Shailendra.
