Great movie! I watched it quite some time ago. Perhaps it is time to watch again.

This is one of my favorite songs.
When I started learning and singing Bollywood songs a couple years ago, this song was one of the first, or probably the first song that I learned and sang, Thanks to karaoke.

boond chhupi kis baadal me koi jane na
oh re taal mile nadi ke jal me

sagar mile kaun se jal me koi jane na
oh re tal mile nadi ke jal me

anjane hotho par tu pahchane geet hai
pahachne geet hai
kal tak jo begane the janamo ke meet hai

Day 24: Today's song is Aapke Anurodh Pe by Kishore Kumar - Anurodh (1977)

It is day 24, and today's song is a song I remember quite well from my childhood. In fact, I remember watching the movie as a kid and liking this song, and I also remember tinkering with singing this song and trying to play it on my father's harmonium. Those were the days.

The song is titled Aapke Anurodh Pe, from the 1977 movie Anurodh, directed by Shakti Samanta. Music composed by the Laxmikant-Pyarelal, and lyrics written by Anand Bakshi. The trio of Kishore Kumar, Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Anand Bakshi went on to create many great hits in the history of Bollywood.

Lyrics:
Aap ke anurodh pe main yeh geet sunata hoon
Main yeh geet sunata hoon
Aap ke anurodh pe main yeh geet sunata hoon
Main yeh geet sunata hoon
Apne dil ki baaton se aap ka dil behlata hoon
Aap ke anurodh pe

Mat poochho auron ke dukh mein
Yeh prem kavi kyon rota hai
Mat poochho auron ke dukh mein
Yeh prem kavi kyon rota hai
Bas chot kisi ko lagti hai
Aur dard kisi ko hota hai
Door kahin koi darpan toote
Tadap ke main reh jaata hoon
Aap ke anurodh pe main yeh geet sunata hoon
Main yeh geet sunata hoon

Tareef main jiski karta hoon
Tareef main jiski karta hoon
Kya roop hai woh kya khushbu hai
Kuchh baat nahi aisi koi
Yeh ek suron ka jaadu hai
Koyal ki ek kook se sabke
Dil man mein hook uthata hoon
Aap ke anurodh pe main yeh geet sunata hoon
Main yeh geet sunata hoon

Main pehne phirta hoon jo
Woh zanjeerein kaise banti hain
Main pehne phirta hoon jo
Woh zanjeerein kaise banti hain
Yeh bhed bata doon geeton mein
Tasveerein kaise banti hain
Sundar honthon ki laali se
Main rang roop churata hoon
Aap ke anurodh pe main yeh geet sunata hoon
Main yeh geet sunata hoon
Apne dil ki baaton se aap ka dil behlata hoon
Aap ke anurodh pe

Day 292: Today's song is Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo by Mukesh - Teesri Kasam (1966)

It is day 292 and today's song is Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo sung by Mukesh from the 1966 movie Teesri Kasam directed by Basu Bhattacharya and produced by Shailendra. Music composed by Shankar Jaikishan, and lyrics written by Shailendra.

Raag: Asavari
Taal: Kaherava

Such simple and great lyrics. Straight forward, but definitely ignored. Why do I say that? Just look at the state of the human world. Speak-the-truth only exists mostly on papers and not practiced. From organizations, corporations to politicians to day to people, many  lie, just to gain financial profit. This reminds me of couple lines from another song:

Ab to Imaan dharam ki koi keemat hi nahi,
Jaise sach bolne walon ki zarurat hi nahi

Now, integrity and righteousness has no value at all,
As if truth speakers are not required at all

Lyrics:
sajan re jhooth mat bolo,
khudaa ke paas jaanaa hai
na haathi hai naa ghodaa hai,
wahaan paidal hi jaanaa hai
sajan re jhooth mat bolo,
khudaa ke paas jaanaa hai
na haathi hai naa ghodaa hai,
wahaan paidal hi jaanaa hai
sajan re jhooth mat bolo

tumhaare mahal chaubaare,
yahin rah jaayenge saare
tumhaare mahal chaubaare,
yahin rah jaayenge saare
akad kis baat ki pyaare
akad kis baat ki pyaare,
ye sar phir bhi jhukaanaa hai
sajan re jhooth mat bolo,
khudaa ke paas jaanaa hai

bhalaa keejai bhalaa hogaa,
buraa keejai buraa hogaa
bhalaa keejai bhalaa hogaa,
buraa keejai buraa hogaa
bahi likh likh ke kyaa hogaa
bahi likh likh ke kyaa hogaa,
yahin sab kuchh chukaanaa hai
sajan re jhooth mat bolo,
khudaa ke paas jaanaa hai

ladakpan khel mein khoyaa,
jawaani neend bhar soyaa
ladakpan khel mein khoyaa,
jawaani neend bhar soyaa
budhaapaa dekh kar royaa
budhaapaa dekh kar royaa,
wahi kissaa puraanaa hai
sajan re jhooth mat bolo,
khudaa ke paas jaanaa hai
na haathi hai naa ghodaa hai,
wahaan paidal hi jaanaa hai
sajan re jhooth mat bolo,
khudaa ke paas jaanaa hai

Day 89: Today's song is Mera Jeevan Kora Kagaz by Kishore Kumar - Kora Kagaz (1974)

It is day 89, and today's song is Mera Jeevan Kora Kagaz sung by Kishore Kumar from the 1974 movie Kora Kagaz, directed by Anil Ganguly. Music composed by by Kalyanji Anandji and lyrics written by M.G. Hashmat.

A real good sad song from a movie that I do not recall ever watching. Perhaps I will watch it soon. Great song, and most anybody who is into Bollywood Hindi songs will know this song. Growing up, it used to play a lot on radio, TV, etc.

Here is a recent rendition with lyrical video (Posted on Oct 10, 2025):

Anyways, here it is, my rendition of the song (Posted on May 11, 2021):
Chords: tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/
Lyrics:
Mera Jeevan
Mera jeevan kora kagaz kora hi reh gaya
Mera jeevan kora kagaz kora hi reh gaya
Jo likha tha
Jo likha tha aansuon ke sang beh gaya
Mera jeevan
Mera jeevan kora kagaz kora hi reh gaya

Ik hawa ka jhonka aaya
Ho ik hawa ka jhonka aaya
Toota daali se phool
Toota daali se phool
Na pawan ki, na chaman ki
Kiski hai yeh bhool
Kiski hai yeh bhool
Kho gayi
Kho gayi khushboo hawa mein
Kuchh na reh gaya Mera jeevan
Mera jeevan kora kagaz kora hi reh gaya

Udte panchhi ka thikana
Udte panchhi ka thikana
Mera na koi jahan
Mera na koi jahan
Na dagar hai, na khabar hai
Jana hai mujhko kahan
Jana hai mujhko kahan
Ban ke sapna
Ban ke sapna humsafar ka sath reh haya
Mera jeevan
Mera jeevan kora kagaz kora hi reh gaya

Part 2

Dukh ke andar sukh ki jyoti
Dukh hi sukh ka gyan
Dukh hi sukh ka gyan
Dard seh ke janam leta
Har koi insan
Har koi insan
Woh sukhi hai
Woh sukhi hai
Jo khushi se dard seh gaya
Mera jeevan
Mera jeevan kora kagaz kora hi reh gaya.

Lyrics:
tum bhi chalo hum bhi chale, chalti rahe zindagi
tum bhi chalo hum bhi chale, chalti rahe zindagi
na zami manzil na aasma, zindagi hain zindagi
tum bhi chalo hum bhi chale, chalti rahe zindagi

pichhe dekhe na, kabhi mud ke raaho me
jhume mera dil, tumhe leke baaho me
dhadkano ki zubaa, neet kahe daasta
pyar ki jhil-mil chhav me palti rahe zindagi
tum bhi chalo hum bhi chale, chalti rahe zindagi
na zami manzil na aasma, zindagi hain zindagi
tum bhi chalo hum bhi chale, chalti rahe zindagi

behte chale hum masti ke dhaaro me
gunje yahi dhun sada dil ke taaro me
ab ruke na kahi pyar ka kaarwa
neet nayi rut ke rang me dhalti rahe zindagi
tum bhi chalo hum bhi chale, chalti rahe zindagi
na zami manzil na aasma, zindagi hain zindagi
tum bhi chalo hum bhi chale, chalti rahe zindagi
chalti rahe zindagi
