Day 6, and today I am doing the song Diye Jalte Hain, Phool Khilte Hain. This song is sung my the great Kishore Kumar, and picturized with Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. This song is from a 1973 Bollywood Hindi movie Namak Haraam dirceted by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, one of my favorite directors, and Music direction by my favorite musician and favorite of many because he was one of the most creative and diverse musician in the industry, the one and only, R.D.Burman. Lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi who went on to write many great hits.
The lyrics of this song is profound, and it is a song about friends and friendship. The chorus of the songs roughly translates to: Lamps burn and flowers blossom, But in this world it's very hard to find friends.
A profound verse in this song translates to: Wealth and youth will go away one day, I'm telling the truth, the whole world becomes your enemy. But only friends walk with you for the entire life.

Lyrics:
Diye jalte hain phul khilte hainDiye jalte hain phul khilte hain
Badi mushkil se magar
Duniya me dost milte hain
Diye jalte hain
Jab jis wakt kisi kaa
Pyar juda hota hai
Kuchh naa puchho yaro
Dil kaa hal bura hota hai
Dil pe yado ke jaise
Tir chalte hain ahan ha
Diye jalte hain phul
Hargij naj naa karna
Jan bhi mange yar toh
De dena naraj naa karna
Rang ud jate hain dhup
Dhalte hain hmhmhm
Diye jalte hain phul
Khilte hain diye jalte hain
Ek din kho jati hain
Sach kahata hu sari duniya
Dushman ho jati hai
Umr bhar dost lekin sath
Chalte hain hmmhm
Diye jalte hain phul khilte hain
Badi mushkil se magar
Duniya me dost milte hain
Diye jalte hain.
peace
aG
