I remember watching the movie when it was released. Very long movie, very colorful movie.
Not sure I have anything more to say about the movie, but the song is a good song, perhaps because of SPB could make anything shine.

Day 111, and the song is Ruk Ja O Janewali Ruk Ja sung by Mukesh from the 1959 movie Kanhaiya, directed by Om Prakash. Music composed by Shankar Jaikishan, and lyrics written by Shailendra.

I have not watched this movie, in fact I have not known about this movie until now as I am looking for info on this song Ruk Ja O Janewali Ruk Ja. Must have played on the radio, or was one of songs on the Mukesh greatest hits cassette or something, but I remember the song, and I like the song.

The lyrics seems like the song is sung to a girl/woman, but actually picturized with Raj Kapoor singing to the liquor bottle. Jaanewali can be anybody personified, could be opportunity too. :)

Day 107: Today's song is Yaad Aa Raha Hai by Bappi Lahiri - Disco Dancer (1982)

It is day 107, and today's song is Yaad Aa Raha Hai sung by Bappi Lahiri from the 1982 blockbuster super hit movie Disco Dancer, directed and produced by Babbar Subhash. Music composed by Bappi Lahiri, and lyrics written by Anjaan (is/was Anjaan really one person or a few "not known" people, I wonder)

The movie and it's songs had impact on the local cultures for at least 6 years straight after it's release. It is said the movie was 4 years old and was still playing one show in one movie theatre in few cities. I think that is quite a feat, to have the movie run for 4 years straight. For the first couple years, I am sure the movie ran in multiple theaters in many cities.

This movie also opened avenues for Bappi Da to explore and adapt western pop, disco and rock music.

I remember belting out this song as a kid, In fact we had a tape of all the songs from this movie and I knew all of them by heart. In my 4th grade school, I remember singing on stage in a school event, a not so well know song from this movie, Krishna Dharti Pe Aaja. I still love that song.

It is day 106, and today's song is Dur Dur Tum Rahe Pukarte Hum Rahe sung by Lata Mangeshkar from the 1976 movie Chalte Chalte, directed by Sunder Dar, and produced by Bhisham Kohli (aka Vishal Anand). Music composed by Bappi Lahiri, and lyrics written by Amit Khanna.

IMHO, easily the best music that Bappi Lahiri created in Bollywood Hindi movies scene. This I felt, was about the most original that Bappi da's composition was before he started copying pop and rock beats, grooves and melodies. But alas! This song is a copy of #Rain Drops Keep Falling on my head.

This song is not a well know song, but I love this song, because I know it from the Chalte Chalte tape that my father's collection used to have, and I used to play the tape often. I think I like all the songs from the movie and the music has soul.

The movie too is great, and very well made. I watched this movie a few days ago, and I liked it. I enjoyed the movie more as I also knew all the songs, and did I mention, good music from Bappi Da.

ONE HUNDRED! Quite a landmark for me. 100 of 300. Third of a way, and two thirds of the way to go. 
Again, just to re-iterate, My attempt is not to copy or reproduce the original song. This was merely my decision I made, back on Jan 28 2021, to learn and sing 300 classic Bollywood old songs, and my goal is to be able to emote the lyrics and feel of the song. Mostly, I am doing this just to keep my word to myself. It is being a good learning experience, not just in singing but in life too.

This is my first post of a song sung by Asha Bhosle. 
She had quite a style and no wonder was quite a pair with R.D. Burman saab. She can be Indian classical-ly, yet quite sultry and quite rocky n' poppy when needed.

I have always, and will always be a huge R.D. Burman music fan, a tasty blend of western music, and Indian folk music.

Not sure I did any good job at singing this song, but the song scene was different, in my head, for me, compared to the movie scene. so my emotion behind the lyrical contents may be different from the emotion in the original song based on the song scene in the movie.

Talking about movie, I don't recall watching this movie; and if I did, I don't remember it. But I sure hope I can find this movie to stream and watch it tonight or tomorrow night.

This is a first duet song that I am posting, and since I am singing alone, I am singing both parts of the duet myself. 
Both the singers are one of my favorites. I love the powerful voice of Mahendra Kapoor ji, and I always loved Salma Agha, a beautiful woman, and a good singer, even though some what of a nasal voice timbre.

This song was a big hit song from this movie and used to play quite regularly on TV, radio, etc. growing up.

I remember watching the re-run of this movie as a kid. Typical Rajashri productions movie.
Good song! I like it.
My father used to have a 90 or 120 minutes cassette tape with all Yesudas songs on it, and I remember playing it often, as listening to Yesudas' voice is so soothing.

This is a good song with some very deep meaning. I remember watching the music video of this song on chitrahaar on Indian TV, growing up. One of my school friends used to love this song and sing it a lot. He was a Mukesh fan.

The movie, I actually have not ever watched. Perhaps something to watch sometime. Honestly, I have never been a fan of Manoj Kumar's movies, but then I have not watched his movies since childhood, except for Roti Kapda Aur Makan which I watched a couple years ago and got bored half way and fell asleep. That was a "poor me" kind of movie.

This always was my favorite song from the movie. I remember watching the movie first time when I was a little boy, and I don't think it was very exciting to watch at that time, because the movie is not an action or masala movie, but an emotional drama.
