Day 296: Today's song is Yeh Dil Na Hota Bechara by Kishore Kumar - Jewel Thief (1967)

It is day 296, and today's song is Yeh Dil Na Hota Bechara sung by Kishore Kumar from the 1967 movie Jewel Thief directed by Vijay Anand and produced by Dev Anand. Music composed by S.D. Burman, and lyrics written by Majrooh Sultanpuri.

This is probably last song I am posting written by the greats and my all times favorites, S.D. Burman and Majrooh Sutanpuri.

I am at song# 296, 4 more to go, and then done. I know I spent quite a good amount of my time learning recording and posting these songs. For what?

Again, I know I do not have a great voice, nor am I trained in singing.

I know some of my postings sound not bad, some are better, most are average with flaws and not perfect. But I am happy I did. At least now I can die in peace. My singing is out there for generations to listen to.

I do not believe in copying the original music note to note when singing or playing music. Perhaps it is my inability to copy note to note, or lack of patience to strive to copy. I mostly learned the song, focus on the lyrics and attempted to emote the feeling of the lyrics to the best of my mediocre abilities.

Thank you to the handful of people who have listened to my post regularly or on and off.

In the end, I am almost close to 300 songs that I decided to learn and post. So, I am happy I kept my word to myself and did what I strived to do irrespective of anything.

I am also happy that I found Deepankar Choudhury's English translation of this song. He is the best translator of Bollywood songs. Many posts I have put link to his translation work. He does not just literally translates, but translates into English poetry while keeping the meaning and essence of the song.
