Day 293: Today's song is Man Re Tu Kahe Na Dheer Dhare by Mohammed Rafi - Chitralekha (1964)

It is day 293, and today's song is Man Re Tu Kahe Na Dheer Dhare sung by Mohammed Rafi from the 1964 movie Chitralekha directed by Kidar Sharma and produced by A.K. Nadiadwala. Music composed by Roshan, and lyrics written by Sahir Ludhianvi.

Raag: Yaman
Taal: Kaherava

The movie is based on a 1934 Hindi novel. I watched this movie once on TV as a kid when it was played. I think I will watch it again sometime soon.
The song, one of my most favorite songs, conveys the quintessence of life about letting go. Why is my mann (loosely translated to mind/heart, but not accurately) not being still?

Day 249: Today's song is Sajanwa Bairi Ho Gaye Hamar by Mukesh - Teesri Kasam (1966)

It is day 249, and today's song is Sajanwa Bairi Ho Gaye Hamar sung by Mukesh from the 1966 movie Teesri Kasam directed by Basu Bhattacharya, and produced by lyricist Shailendra. Music composed by Shankar Jaikishan, and lyrics written by Shailendra.

Teesri Kasam (meaning third vow) was well received by critics and took the National Film Award for Best Feature Film.
I watched it a couple few times, and didn't really think much of the story. I wondered if the protagonist kept taking forth, fifth, chatta, saatva kasam, endless kasams. :)

Day 134: Today's song is Musafir Hoon Yaaron by Kishore Kumar - Parichay (1972)

It is day 134 and today's song is a super well known popular awesome song titled Musafir Hoon Yaaron sung by Kishore Kumar from the 1972 movie Parichay, directed by Gulzar. Music composed by R.D. Burman and lyrics written by Gulzar.

Wow! what an ooze of talent. Pancham da and Gulzar saheb, two of my favorite artists from Bollywood. The best the two are/were, the super duper they are together.

I don't think I saw the movie after I saw it once as a kid on TV. I think it is a good movie to watch again, I think I will.
